    “Women and Business in the G20 Summit” within the discussions of the Women’s Economic Forum 2020​

    A member of the Board of Directors of the Asharqia Chamber, Nouf Bint Abdulaziz Al-Turki, said that the sixth edition of the Women's Economic Forum 2020 organized by the Asharqia Chamber under the generous patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Eastern Province, under the title "Empowerment and Ambition" Wednesday 25 November 2020, It reviews the axes of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which aims to raise the percentage of Saudi women's participation in the national economy from 22 to 30%, and has given priority to developing women's capabilities and talents and activating their role in several aspects, as it placed developing women's skills and investing their energies among their priorities, in addition to empowering Saudi women to Obtaining appropriate opportunities commensurate with the required and distinctive specializations to contribute to the development of the local community and the national economy​.

    Al-Turki indicated that the forum, through its sessions, reviews success experiences and development plans in the Gulf countries to extract lessons learned from previous experiences in this field.

    For her part, a member of the Board of Directors of the Asharqia Chamber Al-Anoud Bint Tawfiq Al-Ramah explained that officials will discuss the important effects of the Quality of Life Program 2020, which is one of the programs to achieve the Kingdom's vision 2030, as it is concerned with improving the lifestyle of the individual and the family and building a society that enjoys a balanced way of life, by preparing The necessary environment to support and create new options that enhance citizen and resident participation in cultural, entertainment and sports activities. Achieving the program’s goals will also contribute to generating many jobs and diversifying economic activity, leading to the inclusion of Saudi cities on the list of the best cities to live in in the world.

    Al-Ramah pointed out that the Kingdom's Vision 2030 pays special attention to increasing the participation of women in the practical field, which requires the adoption of new initiatives and specific programs to increase their contribution to the workforce, as well as creating job opportunities for those who possess productive skills that benefit the national economy in the stage of its transformation. Official G20 Contact Groups to work on the obstacles women still face within the G20 discussions and policies.
